Lung capacity

I’m now on week 2

Run 1 I took relatively sedately

Run 2 I increased the run pace & my breathing was quite heavy however my heart rate only reached zone 3.

I do vape & stoped smoking 4 years ago.

I just hope my lung capacity will improve as physically the body feels good it’s just the lungs.

Well done.

Make sure that you can speak aloud clear ungasping sentences as you run. This will mean that your breathing is under control.

Slowing down to the recommended easy conversational pace makes it more achievable and for most, more enjoyable.

Counterintuitively, it is an easy conversational pace running that builds your stamina and endurance, not fast running.

Well done on getting into week 2You will benefit more by not increasing your pace at this stage though .Running at a conversational pace is the best way to develop your strength and stamina .

You will certainly notice the progress as you move through the program 👍

Don’t increase your run pace Wez35! Keep it slow and then slow down some more - pace will come later. Slow, slow, slow is the mantra for C25K!

As everyone's just said, this isn't about running quickly. It's all about running for a particular amount of time. You can go as slowly as you like.

Best advice for breathing is to breathe into your stomach, try breathing normally then try deep breathing so you stomach moves. This works for me ever time. I use to breath mostly with only my chest moving which is wrong and caused me to struggle every run.Hope this helps you.
