New shoes and the start of the 10k plan still too fast

What a week, rubbish builder finally finished Sunday but whilst we were out Monday night the first time I had all my children and their partners together since Feb 2020 and he rings to tell us he has COVID 🀬 so let’s just say meal cut short and home for a test! Luckily negative phew but missed hugging my children 😒

On a brighter note I have started on The 10k plan wild but let’s see how we do. First week not too bad as back in the office a couple of days so need to find routine again but all runs completed but I’m still running like I’m being chased by a lion, when Mr Strava man gives me my stats I walk a few paces and try to reset slower.

I also had a gait analysis and some pretty new trainers this week my ankles tend to roll in I could actually see them doing it as I ran along so no surprise but at least I now have the right footwear so not causing myself damage.

Happy running everyone 😷

I’m struggling to slow down too, also just finished week one of the 10km plan! I’m off for a gait analysis and new shoes tomorrow, can’t wait!

Enjoy! It was quite fun but intense the shop was warm and I’m not used to the treadmill but the assistant was really good and knowledgeable, make sure to take socks !

πŸ™ˆ builder! That's really lucky you both got a negative test but rotten timing for your family meal. Hopefully you can get them all together again soon. Your new trainers look fab! I liked the look of Asics, I'm seeing them everywhere. I bought Altras online...they arrived today and are a bit um weird looking 🀭. I'm going to pretend not to care what they look like so long as they nice to run in lolWell done on the 5.5km πŸ‘. I did my 6km run yesterday in 48 mins, felt it for the rest of the day!

I think they look great??. I've been putting off going to gait analysis because I'm too busy with work but plan to get there soon. I underpronate I'm sure, and snapped these up in a charity shop the other day, they looked unused because I know new balance are good for wide feet and the are neutral (the internet is awesome!). My kids tell me they are 'trendy' 😱

They look nice, great find in the charity shop πŸ‘ I was using my NB trainers for walking then used them when I started this c25k running and now the tread has disappeared and I got actual holes in the soles! I was getting desperate and so confused by them all. The foot shape just looks so different between the trainers, I'll get used to them eventually!
