Hi, I’m starting out but I know whenever I run for as little as 100m I have shin splints that take a day to go away. Is there any advice how to avoid it?

Welcome to the forum and well done on your decision.

You need to minimise impact.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

I got these at the start but they have subsided now. Just make sure you take your rest days in between. Your muscles will strengthen over time.

Shin splints are common whilst your muscles are learning this new task.

As per above, please read the guide. Also check out this video
