Can anyone help?

I have read somewhere that it’s best to get new trainers when you have run 500 miles. I’ve no idea how many miles I’ve run in 2 years! Are there other signs?? The trainers I’ve got are not falling apart.

What does the tread on the bottom of the shoe look like - is it worn away? When you run do you feel like there's plenty of 'cuhsion'? If the tread is worn or the cushion is gone then change up, if not you might still be fine - I find it really depends on the shoe style how quickly I go through them!

Thank you. 😀I will have a look at the tread. The cushioning seems ok at the moment.

Do you not have a record of your distance on garmin or Strava? You might think the cushioning seems ok, but I bet you’d think differently if you tried a new pair on of the same style 🤣

2 years 😶

Yes, I could look at the stats from the last two years on Strava.

Yes, I’m sure a new pair would feel different!!😄

If they've had two years of regular running they're near to being replaced. But on the other hand, if they're still comfortable to run in and your feet still feel good after a run you're probably OK.

But then I run in minimalist shoes having very little padding to start with, so my views are a little unorthodox. 🤪

"And I would 'run' 500 miles"....That's just over 800K. Two years is 100 weeks (with 4 weeks off for Injury!) I bet you have done more than 8K per week! If, like me, you are a little "heavy-footed" (euphemistically speaking) then that wear and tear might be even more pronounced! The shops are open soon, you can try on some new runners then. I bet you will notice the difference.
