Hello!

Newbie here - I’ve got as far as run 1 week 2 and since the last run of week 1 I’ve had inner knee pain afterwards. I thought I would test it with another run and it didn’t hurt during the run but has been sore ever since and that was about a week ago. I don’t feel like it’s bad enough to warrant seeing a doctor but I want it to go away so I can run again.

I guess I’m just wondering if anyone has had a similar thing happen and did you manage to overcome it? I’m looking out the window and thinking what great running weather but I don’t want to regret it by aggravating my knee again.

Lots of people get knee pain in weeks 2 and 3. It’s normal. It goes in a week or so. Take ibuprofen.

Thanks, I’ve just decided to come out and try a run and I literally can’t do it because of the pain :( my knees both feel really weak. Just a walk for me today

It’ll go. It’s just your thighs haven’t gained enough strength yet.

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

Knee pain is common, but if extreme you need to rest up, follow the PRICE principles linked to in the guide, then minimise impact and do strengthening exercises.
