Hi, just a quick one.... my shins and calves would take a battering during the walking sections of the runs...... flight socks have been my saviour. Wear them for running all the time now. πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ

The guide to the plan has advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, strengthening exercises and hydration all of which will help alongside your socks. healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

That's good to know, my other half gets aching calves after a run and I've suggested compression socks to him - nice to know it's worked for someone. Although getting him to listen is another matter!

Good move π I ran with calf compression sleeves for the first 3 years after suffering early on with calf pain and shin splits during C25K. It is only during this past 6 months that I have stopped wearing them as my running legs are now fully developed. The sleeves are still there on stand by and if I feel any twinges at all they go back on for the next run which is hardly at all now.
Tip: Bio freeze gel works wonders too on sore muscles.

I have both compression socks and compression running tights. They do make a difference.
