After running for about 15/20 mins I start to get a pain in my calf then pins and needles in my foot. It’s as if my trainers are to tight which they aren’t any ideas how to prevent this or diagnose it cheers

It does sound like your shoes are too tight.........feet spread after longer durations of running, which is why most people have a minimum of 1/2 a size bigger running shoe than normal shoe.

Pins and needles or numbness are symptomatic of restricted blood flow and there are many pages on the internet showing different ways to lace your shoes to avoid pinch points at different places on your feet.

Have you tried slackening your laces?

I haven’t tried loosening my laces like I say they don’t feel to tight but I’ll give it a go next run. Cheers

Loosen them down your foot but keep them tighter at the top - google using the lock laces technique

This happened to me, the calf pain especially was never enough to stop me running but it was very sore near the end of the run.

The good news is that as time went on the pain eased off and now it's just at a level that I'd expect from working hard. Also, do some basic warm up exercises aimed at the calves if not already doing so. I only spend about 2 minutes doing so and it really helps me.

I get slight pins and needles during the end of the run, but I always felt it was just another aftereffect of pushing my body past it's comfort zone.
