you wont believe this guys and gals... well i didn't... i just got back from my normal every day half hour walk...and i always end on the 30 minute mark....always.... and today it said 25 minutes.... AFTER ONE RUN!!??????!!!!??? thats about a 17% decrease in time. plus i did a few hundred fewer paces.... i wasn't trying to go faster or take bigger strides.... it just happened naturally.... now, how amazing is that??? i just felt propelled by the air today. i mean, is or is that not proof that something good is going on? improved general fitness already after 30 mins work yesterday x
i am AMAAAAAAAZZZZZZZEDDDDDDDDDDD !: you wont... - Couch to 5K
i am AMAAAAAAAZZZZZZZEDDDDDDDDDDD !
Haha, wouldn't read too much into it after one run 😁
Well done DTC, that’s great progress. You’re doing so well but take care not to get over confident. Don’t be disheartened if you don’t see the same results next time, sometimes the runs don’t work out as we’d like them too. Very best of luck with your next excursion!
How was the bus ride 🤭
Haha !
I think this might be a result of you having been energised by your run, so it's entirely possible that you walked faster because of increased body confidence. I find if I'm feeling good about myself, it can really impact on how so move and the energy I put into activities.
So probably less about improved fitness at this stage, but more about you behaving fitter!
Great idea to have a brisk walk on your non run days too.
You're off the mark now, look forward to hearing about your progress
That’s great to hear and you sound so much more upbeat 👍 I certainly found that walking briskly on my in between days helped overall.
Good luck with R2 tomorrow but keep it super slow 🐌🐢 then you can compare how it felt against R1, and you know what to expect now too. Good luck 😊
its funny, i am hooked, i am already totally committed to the programme, i am so involved...totally into all this malarky....yet i am not looking forward to tomorrows w1r2 at all. quite the reverse. i am dreading it. the first just nearly killed me. but my friends all tell me it will get easier and i will come to love it. so i go on... lol
It’s said, I think (but I’m a novice too so am happy to be corrected by those who know better) that when you’re jogging one foot is always off the ground and you can do a slow ‘shuffle’ as it’s called. Keep your stride length short and don’t lift your knees up too high...practice it a bit in your house then you’ll see what I mean, it really helps to slow you down.
There are 2 really helpful videos that get shared on here a lot which are brilliant. I’ll see if I can find them otherwise I’m sure someone will 😊
i would LOVE to see those videos. oh gawd i hope i am doing it right! and you're not really a novice, you're a winner, a graduate, a success! oh yesssssssssssssss! loving other people successes on here x
