Tropical Friday ‘A Hot Run’

Decided to try the Nike Run Club ‘A Hot Run’ today. Wasn’t really that hot but there were some good tips from Coach Bennet to get the best from my runs over the coming months. There was a lovely big cloud covering the sun, which was already quite high when I started the run at 5.55am, and a nice tropical breeze blowing on the seafront promenade where I run. 24 degrees C with 81% humidity, this will seem like a cool run in a few weeks time. Summer here runs through to about late May unfortunately. Anyway, the run was good, for the first time I used Spotify with the Nike Run app, I usually just play my own music. I like my songs but I have been using the same set over and over for 8 years now, the Spotify playlist Nike matched was good. I liked how this run I wasn’t getting stats through the run on how fast I was going, I was going slower this morning so I kept going after the 35 minute run to complete my 5km in 36.51. A minute slower than last week but a successful run for me today as I did enjoy it.

Well done Bontobpat, I’m a big fan of the NRC guided runs, particularly those with coach Bennett👍 I haven’t used the ‘A hot run’ version yet, but I did use ‘A cold run’ the other week when it was wet and windy on the south coast!

The various interval sessions are great if you want a bit of variety too!

Well done! I think I’m going to try another of these NRC runs sometime soon - the one I did seemed to fit in nicely with my plan. I’ll have to check and see if there’s a ‘Wet and Windy’ run, which would be more appropriate here. 😀

Wow that’s an amazing time in that heat and humidity 👏 I’ve been moaning about 18 deg and 85% here in Canada 😆 it’s the humidity I hate the most. Heading towards our first winter here so I’ll probably be complaining about the cold and snow soon 😂

I’m going to try NRC this week so good to hear about it.

Good luck with your running in the increasing temperatures 😊

NRC has ‘A Cold Run’...maybe you can try that one. I don’t think I will ever need it here!
