Week 5, run 1 completed and ran okay but I am getting really apprehensive for runs 2&3. I have prepared a running playlist with all my favourite tunes and I think I am going to try and do run 3 outside, to make it a bit more interesting. Any other tips anyone else has for getting through runs 2&3 on week 5?

Hi Jazzicatz, I completed week 5 on Friday and I felt a very similar way. I think many, if not most, people do. As much as I was being told I would be fine the thought of those longer runs seemed impossible still. But I can attest that I was fine and I’m sure you will be too. You’re physically ready - W5R3 is more of a mental battle. It’s about pushing through any doubts, settling into a steady pace (pretty slow for me 😊) and just going with it. The tunes will help too 🎧 🎵😀
Let us know how you get on....you’ve got this 🤜🤛

Every run you have completed has physically prepared you for the next .
Week 5 is no different, if you have done run 1 you will be capable of run 2 and then 3.
Infact, if you look at the timings you will see that week 5 run 3 is 1 minute LESS workout session than run 2 😁

Hi Jazzicatz, I did W5R1 yesterday, will by doing R2 hopefully tomorrow (if I wake up early enough and workday accommodates it). My view has been that the programme takes us safely to the next run, - as Instructor57 says too- so I’m looking forward to R2 and R3. Let’s post back! Best wishes.

You can do it! Playlist should help the time pass. I find being outside helps too as passing places is more interesting that running in the same spot on a treadmill with no mental stimulation. I will be doing w5r2 today, looking forward to it but I do have some trepidation about R3 . Hoping weather is with me for both runs, thankfully today looks mild and dry
