No matter how old, how fit or unfit, how dedicated or not, you've got to start your running journey from somewhere. Couch to 5k was my choice and I never regretted it. Great program, easy to follow, massively rewarding, guaranteed to build your confidence, fitness, self-esteem and outlook on life in general. For me, it inspired and enabled me to take the whole business further and train, enjoy myself, train some more and eventually after just 4 years I was ready, and fit, and good enough to attempt and complete a 50K run.

You can read that and more in my latest blog:

Remember, many things seem way harder than they really are. Was 50K hard? Weeell, yeah, to an extent it was BUT it was very doable at the same time! And that's what we want.

That’s very impressive and inspirational too! But at 73 I’ll stick with 5k (although 10k would be awesome for me!)

Once you are comfortable with 5K, 10 kilometer target is just a whistle away. It's much easier getting there than you think, you've done all the hard work reaching 5km, the muscles are in order and used to that workout and your cardio is ready. You can do it! ;)
