So, one of my friends asked if I wanted to join her for the digital Oslo marathon on the 19th of September. I worked out that by then I'll be on the last run of W5, as I'm doing every week twice for reasons of a bad knee (which I've previously posted about). Also realised W5R3 is the first 20-minute run with no intervals, which actually seems quite perfect, and the shortest race in the marathon is called "3k for all". I have no idea whether I'd actually cover 3k in the 20-minute time span (I'm currently averaging a running speed of about 6'30/km according to my C25K app, but I'd probably have to slow way down for my first no-interval stretch) - but if I don't, I can always walk the rest of the way.
I know a lot of people sign up for 5ks for when they're done with the programme, but what are your opinions on signing up for a 3k for W5R3?

It's an online event where you're meant to do the run wherever you are/feel like running, and you can do it at any point during a 24-hour period. So should be fairly easy to get a good warmup in!
Thanks for the advice! The C25K app I'm using separately tracks running and walking speeds, though I have no idea how accurate it is. I would definitely be cautious not to over-extend, and wouldn't really mind having to walk the last bit if it gets to the 20 minute mark and I haven't covered 3km yet (I'm not a very competitive person, and it's digital anyway so the only other person who'd potentially be around is my friend 😅)
