Congratulations to him, 12.35 for a 5K, wow, if he ran at the parkrun I run, he would lap me 3 times. 😊 🏃🏾

And he had three pacers (I think). Imagine giving him the pace? I simply can't get my head around it. That Is Speed!

Wow, he is going to be a force to be reckoned with for years to come.

I hope he has a rest day tomorrow.

I saw Kenenisa Bekele on YouTube setting the previous WR in 2004. I believe he lapped one of the runners and towards the finish his face was contorting. But when the great man finished he looked as if he'd never run. That level is something else.

And to think that top guys run marathons at steady tempo of just around 3 mins per km? Crazy.....

To put that in some kind of context at the same meet Laura Muir broke the British women's record for 1,000 metres previously held by Kelly Holmes in a time of 2:30.82. Congratulations Laura👏

This guy has kept up that pace over 5 times the distance!

Mind blowing!

Indeed. But don't forget that top marathon runners keep the same tempo over the whole distance and the best guys do it at around 3 mins per km. I ran my marathon at 7.30-8 mins per minute. Might as well walked on my arms. As for Laura? Again, tremendous result. Crazy times.
