All the gear......

So, after completing W7R3 yesterday I thought I would treat myself to a gait analysis and some proper big girl running shoes.

After trying on what seemed like half the shop, I finally settled on these bad boys.

How was the gait assessment?

Thinking I should invest.

Did did you have to run on a treadmill?.

(Love the trainers btw)

The gait assessment was fine. They gave me a pair of Brooks trainers to run in on the treadmill and videoโ€™d me running at a comfortable pace for about 90 seconds. They then watched the video back on slow motion to assess how I run. They asked me quite a few questions about how often I run, how far and if I have any pain anywhere. They were really thorough. They then brought me 5 pairs of trainers, all from different brands, which I tried on and ran on the treadmill with for about 30-40 second each pair. I ended up trying on around 14 or 15 different shoes before I settled on the ones I bought. They are so comfortable ๐Ÿ™‚

Thatโ€™s great that they were thorough.

Think will definitely invest as have pain in my right knee, hopefully by wearing right trainers it will alleviate this.

Thanks for the reply.

Gait Analysis is well worth it, even better if it's free, and you will know for sure the type of shoes you require.

Shoes look very snazzy, MM ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Thanks Andy. I would advise anyone to go and get one. They were so thorough, and patient!

Very smart, itโ€™s great to buy new running gear, I bet you canโ€™t wait to get out there and try them out ๐Ÿ‘

I know! I want to go running now, but Iโ€™m on a rest day ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

๐Ÿ˜‚ Take it easy today, you have to have your rest days. I bought a new pair of Brooks recently and they made all the difference to my knees and hips as they soaked up the impact a lot better. Good luck for week 8 ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

Ahhh, I couldnโ€™t get on with the Brooks trainers even though Iโ€™ve heard nothing but good things about them. I think I tried on 3 different pairs of Brooks.

I am definitely taking it easy today. Not risking an injury due to impatience.

I think itโ€™s only because I completed W7 that I decided to get the gait analysis and new shoes. I could justify my scruffy old Nikeโ€™s with the interval training, but needed proper running shoes for the longer runs and beyond C25K

I had my eye on this brand for a while so I was elated when my gait analysis said these are the suitable ones for me... and the colours they have are quite pretty too which ticks my girlie box

You will love them ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ‘Œ
