What now? 🥳

Morning all, I graduated yesterday (yay) I wondered what people have been doing since completing the app? I want to continue running and be able to do the 5k, I’m currently running 4.5k in 30 mins. My gym has reopened this week so I don’t think I will be able to run 3x a week and fit gym in (I normally do 4x gym classes a week) but I can definitely still fit 1/2 runs in a week! I want to carry in with the 30 mins for now and see how I improve. How much has everyone else increased time/distance after that?

Congratulations on your graduation Turtle_wins!🏆🥳

If I were you I’d just keep running for 30 mins for a few weeks. That will help your body get used to running regularly.

Once you’ve done that maybe start running 5K every time.

After that you could have a look at building up to 10K if you fancy it. If you join the Bridge to 10K community on here you’ll find lots of advice and support.

If that doesn’t suit you, you could perhaps try different types of challenge. I’ve got the Nike Run Club (NRC) app and sometimes do guided runs on there. I’m sure there are loads of other apps you could try too.

You could also think about Parkrun, when we’re eventually allowed to do it again. If you just search Parkrun you’ll find all the information you need. It’s free and there’s a very friendly atmosphere and I’ve made a lot of friends doing it.

Good luck and happy running!🙂👍

Thank you all good advice 🙂 yes I want to get good at running for 30 mins first before increasing, I have found the 28 and 30 mins hard so don’t want to add anymore for now! Yes I’ve been using Strava to track my runs, it’s interesting to see my timings and KM times. I haven’t looked properly but I’m sure they don something similar.

Just had a look and there is a park run nearby! So will keep an eye on when that starts and hopefully rope some friends in to join me

Congratulations!!! I’m due to do W9R3 either today/tomorrow so I will keep an eye on your post for advice post C25K.

I think I’m going to consolidate for three weeks (3x30 mins runs per week) before moving on to NHS App + Stepping Stone (or do I use that for the consolidation runs? I don’t know ....)

Then aim for 10k with a 10% increase on run length per week. I think I got that right from the links @IannodaTruffle shared!

Either way, I’ve been using the podcast so I’m really looking forward to running with my own music! Laura’s podcast playlist needs refining/updating/binned!
