Is it me or does the first 5 minutes of running seem the hardest? Afterwards it’s fine 👍👍

It takes your body 5-10 minutes to adjust to the change in speed etc.

Be thankful it’s only 5 for you! I’m normally closer to a mile in before I’m past the tough start! As you’ve seen above, it’s normal.

I always struggled for the first 5/6 minutes and then at around 17/18 and had to really push myself to continue...

The more effective your warm-up, the better those 1st 5 mins will feel.

Agree with other comments that the 1st few minutes can be the hardest, for good scientific reasons. Warm up exercises do help a lot though. Not stretching, but maybe some yoga or general warm ups.
