I’m a mermaid not a runner !!

Hiya everyone, I’m a newbie and just started this plan 3 weeks ago. I haven’t run properly in 20 years so struggling with knowing how slow I am to be honest ! I am enjoying it though, now on week 3. Need to eat a bit healthier to make it worthwhile 😊 I’m also a swim coach so looking forward to telling my squad about my new regime !!

Welcome to the forum and c25k. Everyone is very friendly and supportive on here. You cannot run too slow on this plan. Slow and steady is the mantra. Get to wk9 and three 30 minute runs and you can become a speed demon after that! Keep posting your progress on here. Good luck

I’ve copied a link - I bet you don’t run this slow?...

well done on starting this - it’s a magical programme - got me (someone who couldn’t run for 20 seconds) to run for 30 minutes!

My diet needs some work too tho I am making small tweaks.. healthy swaps etc...

best of luck 👏👏👏

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Run as fast as you can manage and still speak aloud clear, ungasping sentences.........this equates to approximately 75% of your maximum heart rate and is the perfect pace to build stamina and endurance.

Enjoy your journey.
