Had a bad day so decided to go for a run, I normally run in the morning. I also decided to change my route. I got dropped off to run along the canal it is right in the countryside a beautiful evening. I found it so difficult, when Jo said I was half way I thought I had nearly finished. Had to slow right down twice and I am really slow anyway! When I see other people pace it make me realise how slow I am. Not sure I am ready for week 9 yet.
I think a glass of wine is called for🍷and I will maybe repeat the week

i love running by the canal and I love mixing up my route too. However, once you change your route, many familiar markers are gone and this can affect your confidence as a new runner untill you become used to - and eventually crave - exploring new routes. I prefer morning runs too. Although I can nowvrun later if necessary, I still always feel heavier and more tired later in the day. You also start by saying your run was later in a BAD day! Sometimes runs are harder - we may kniw why (and there are three possible reasons right there), but often it's not clear. But it doesn't mean the next run will be hard. It doesn't mean you aren't ready to move on. Embracevit as a tough run that you successfully completed, despite everything. Well done! Oh, and slow is good, very good 😊
Thanks I think you were right bad day bad run. I ran my normal route Thursday morning completed r1 w9 no real issue. With my running with two days rest in between (Monday was also with one rest day)after injuries early on in the programme I will run tomorrow normal route
