Hi, I am up to week 8 run 3 and really enjoying it. On W8R2, when I set out the outside of my left foot felt quite sore just below the ankle heading vertically down (if that makes sense). I completed the run, but decided to take an extra rest day. Today on R3 it was again slightly sore, but not so bad to abandon the idea. Then at 7m30 into the run, I felt something "pop" - long story short, I have had to limp home! Does anyone know what injury this could be and how I can make it heal? If I take some time off, will I have to start back at W1? I am totally gutted to get so close to completion, but I definitely couldn't continue running this morning. Help!!
Week 8 - injured?: Hi, I am up to week 8 run... - Couch to 5K

Hey Karuba. Injuries are a part of life for us runners! Best avoided of course. Never ignore them or try to run through them as that can lead to long term issues and will hi jack your running. Main thing is to get healthy before you try again, be patient. A few days rest will do you good. A week or two you won't lose fitness. You certainly don't need to go back to week1! Either try the run again or go back to w8r1. When I had a bad injury and 8 weeks lay off in week 9 I did a 10 minute run, then stepped up 10 minutes each run day until I got to 30 and then completed wk9. Hope that helps a bit. Good luck
Is it at the back, just above your heel? If so it could be your achilles, though im no medic, if it is only way to recover is rest and maybe see a sports physio and get it checked out
