Managed my second run of Week 4 today. Psychologically, I find run 2 the most challenging each week. Run 1 feels exciting as it’s new and Run 3 is great because once it’s done I’ve reached another milestone. Anyone else find Run 2 tough?

Funny you say this, as I was literally just looking at my stats from my garmin watch and it showed me that my run2 is always slower than run 1 or 3! I’m just finished week 8 and weeks 6-8 have all been that way. I think my motivations are as you describe. Which makes me fear completing the program... will I slow down to snail pace once there’s no target?! 🤣

Yes R2 always felt bit more of a slog. Exact same reasons as you.
Thought of R2 as the last hurdle to get over to reach R3 which I always enjoyed due to reaching the milestone.

I found week 4 the most challenging so far. Specially runs 2 and 3. Albeit run three was a different one as I used it to go somewhere and was a new route. Also a bit steep up.
