Yesterday I completed the first run of week 5. I thought it looked a bit daunting but actually I really enjoyed it. However, I had an allergy test this morning and the patches have to stay on my back for 3 days, and I can't shower until Thursday. So, I think I will do run 1 again to get back into the week and that means that I'm gonna take at least 10 weeks. The other reason is that at my age and fitness level I sometimes find that I take two days to recover from a run. This might get better as I get fitter but I am not going to risk it and if I have to have 2 days between runs then so be it. I think what I'm trying to say here is that I love the programme but I going to have to adapt it to keep my body safe and strong.
Gonna take a little bit longer than 9 weeks.... - Couch to 5K
Gonna take a little bit longer than 9 weeks....
Hi, i ran alternate days not 3 times a week and took me a while to get there, i repeated runs and my focus by the end was time not distance. I managed it and if I can you absolutely can. Stick with it and be nice to yourself
Hi lovely.... take your time and go at your pace......its a personal journey and just fab that you are doing it.... some days i take 2 days rest... not always but i wait and see how i wake up.. I've got osteoporosis and sometimes i feel i need 2 days to recover.. but i play it by ear depending how my weary bones feel Stick with it.... I read on your profile you have done running before so it would be great to get back into it
Best wishes
Just do your own thing! 😊 We’re all going at our own pace and enjoying ourselves. 😄 If I need extra days off I take them and always feel the benefit. Plus, it’s such an enjoyable programme, part of me wants to just relish it and for it not to be over too soon. 😂 🏃♀️🐢
Welcome to the forums and great job getting started. Take some time to read the guide to the plan for tips on hydration, pacing, cross training, shoes, and many more things that’ll make your journey easier healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
This is your journey... if you did it in 9 weeks or 90, the end result is just the same... a fitter, healthier, awesome new runner.
You can do this... enjoy your journey.
