Stretches made a huge difference!

Just completed Wk3 R2 and I remembered to stretch for the first time before setting off. I think because the podcast doesn't mention stretching I thought the warm up walk was enough. Todays run felt much better though, normally my calf muscles would be screaming at me to stop half way through, felt fine today. 😊

Brilliant. I’ve started doing some stretches and knee strengthening exercises daily. I’m hoping this help me in the long term as I get pain in one of my calf muscles and both knees.

Well done.

In my opinion post run static stretching is more effective in pulling out tensions from your run, improving recovery and avoiding carrying them into the next one, than dynamic stretches pre run. Make sure you do the correct ones, as linked to in the guide to the plan.

I've done both 👍

Thanks Ian

Dynamic pre run, static post run.........just clarifying, as there is a potential injury risk doing static stretches on cold muscles.
