About 4 weeks ago I had to stop running for a week because I had a hip/groin pain (genuinely not sure which). Resting did the trick and when I returned all was good, new lease of life infact! I went to run this evening and the same thing; pain in my hip/groin but also pain down the front inside left thigh. I'm going to rest it as before since I know that works but this is annoying! I've just started really progressing and both looking really forward to and loving running! Is this just my (overweight) body adjusting to so much movement?!

Sorry to hear this – I know from experience how frustrating it is to have a reoccuring pain somewhere from running! Niggles like this are often due to a muscle imbalance somewhere in the body, and can be fixed by strengthening that area with exercises. However, you would need a physio to assess what the pain is and if there is indeed an imbalance, I am afraid. I think some sports physios are doing video consultations at the moment, so if you are able, I would recommend that. They are SO helpful in getting you back up and running pain free. If this is not accessible to you right now, you could try doing some hip and glute strength work (just google hip and glute exercises for runners), and see if that helps? And go easy on the running, especially you have pain.
All the best,
