I struggled to get up and out this morning but I did and I feel so much better for it and glad I pushed myself. I told myself just get up and get out and even if you end up walking when you should be running it’s better for you than staying in bed (in truth I know that once I’m out I will never walk when I should be running as I’m far too competitive). I also know that even if I stay in bed for another hour I won’t feel any better for it, whereas I will feel better for getting up and getting out.

I found week 3 pretty tough actually, in some respects I felt more prepared for week 4, so well done for getting through it. Just keep going and you will soon start to feel the benefits. You possibly already are, and even if not, there’s lots of good things going on behind the scenes!

Have a lovely weekend.

Runners are invisible to others.

Get up early and go out.

Running is tough but you get used to doing the previous distances. Week 1 would be easy for you now. If you push your self further, obviously it’s hard. Runners quite often are pushing themselves further. 5k will stays be hard unless you bridge to 10k. 10k will always be hard unless you run further than that.

I think I need to change my thinking all my life I have no confidence in everything so probably if I went back to week 1 you’re probably right I would find it easy thanks everyone

It is definitely a bit of just pushing through the pain. I say every time on each run, I won’t do this but I keep a slow pace and just keep going. Never in a million years would I say I could do it, but I have one run left. Keep going you CAN do this

Yes you do adjust, I felt very anxious and self conscious at going out and when I started this at the beginning of the year it was cold so I wore a hat, but now I think to hell with it, there’s all shapes and sizes out there jogging, some slow, some quicker, some walking and nobody is actually paying any attention to you anyway, it’s all in your mind. Stick with it, I promise you your confidence grows week by week as does your fitness and stamina, try watching a few motivational videos on You Tube they help too...Good Luck 💪🏻👍

I know the staggered drunken feeling! Ha! I had it during week one with my 60 second runs! Anyone would have thought I'd just run a marathon! haha. The runs get more challenging but your fitness will be improving all the time and that's priceless. I find that once I'm truly warmed up and into the run after 5 - 10 minutes it almost becomes like a meditation albeit a breathing heavily meditation. As Laura says in the podcast it's training your mind as much as physically training your body.

I hear you with the drunken staggering 🥴 There’s a video on here somewhere that really helped my thinking about that though. The one on slow jogging. I’ll see if I can find and link it. Basically they talk about landing on the balls of your feet instead of heels, short strides, slow pace, upright. Kinda like jogging on the spot plus a little forward! It feels so much easier! And it stops me from pushing myself too hard then giving up 😉
