Never thought I’d feel this good already 🙌🏽

Well it’s the morning after W5R2 and I feel great. Mainly because five weeks ago I could hardly walk to the top of my stairs without being out of breath and now I’m finding this running malarkey pretty easy (although I’ve seen R3 and it looks a beast!). My left ankle has been a constant problem as it’s permanently sore due to over pronation, however my new Asics GT 1000-8s arrived before my run yesterday and they are far more supportive than my Nike Pegasus’ so I’m hoping they will make a real difference over time. First run in them and they certainly give my floppy ankles far more stability. I’m amazed at how good my cardio is. It’s only the mechanics that are a struggle so a sore lower back, tight hamstrings and calves, and a sore ankle are the struggle and I’m stretching out after every run. All of that is a legacy from being flat footed and never having the correct support so hopefully things will improve in those areas now. I’m enjoying the journey and am determined to see it through and to anyone struggling on their first couple of runs I implore you to get out there, give it a go and stick with it. It’s a wonderful thing to feel great after too many years of feeling meh!
