Yesterday I did run 2 of Week 8. I’ve kept consistent progress since the start, a couple of times I’ve had more than a day’s break between runs due to poor weather, working long days and feeling achey. I seem to be able to mange the runs ok, it takes a bit of determination (ie sheer bloody mindedness) at times but I’ve done it every time. The problem I’ve got is that with the longer runs I’m finding I’m getting a sore right hip (it’s more at the base of my back but on the right) and a bit of a niggly left knee. When I’m actually running they are not too bad, I do stretches when I finish and feel ok, but as time goes on my hip gets more and more painful. If I sit down for any length of time I can hardly walk when I get up and it’s really painful. Once I get going it’s better but I’m beginning to feel like an old woman. My 90 year old dad seems to be able to move more freely than I do at times!!
Is this normal or should I be resting more - perhaps taking 2 days off between runs instead of 1? At the moment I can’t see me being able to move in a couple of weeks!!

Hi Sewnotfit, I am not a medical person, so this is not professional advice - I would advise you listen to your body and if it's really hurting then take a few extra days rest. I also get a sore knee that can get quite painful if I dont give myself a bit of a break, you can happily take extra days and not affect your progress- I have just completed w9r3 and took extra days when I needed them. My knee is starting to improve as the muscles build up, so it's not for forever! Better to allow your body a chance to rest and repair than to force it and cause an injury that might stop you running completely! Good luck, with your running!
I'm with Mrae get that niggle checked out and listen to your body, we all know ourselves best 👍
