W4R1 and the mental game of running

I was supposed to run yesterday morning but I woke up with a headache to a cold, grey, rainy morning. So I promptly rolled over and went back to sleep, promising myself that I would run when I got home from work. Bad idea. It was 9pm by the time I could finally leave the kids with the wife and head out the door and by that time I'd already eaten dinner and fallen asleep reading with my youngest daughter! Rousing myself to get out there took some real willpower. I've learned my lesson! ... he says to himself, doubtfully.🤔

The 'run' was more of a shuffle than a run as I was conscious of the need to not go too fast if I was going to last for the two 5-min segments. I was grateful that it was late and dark and that nobody would see me and wonder why someone was shuffling along like that when they could walk quicker! So I was very surprised when my Garmin pinged at the end of the run with that award!

Due to have a casual jog with my daughter tomorrow, but doubtful that's going to happen by the look of the weather forecast for this weekend. We'll see.🤷‍♂️

Happy running everyone and stay safe out there!
