Consolidation 35 minutes!

Ok I’ve had a miserable week this week. One reason I started this journey is that I have gout which has been getting progressively worse and as it’s the most miserable disease and is totally controllable by better living it was time to do something about it. I have not had a single twinge let alone an attack since I started C25K, that changed this week with an all out inflammation that stopped me running. This hit me hard because I thought it was going away and not being able to run made me more miserable than I would have believed. Anyway it’s over and to celebrate I did a 35 minute run which Nike Run Club tells me has set 7 personal best records 😀 Still not at 5k yet but I can see it coming and it’s only a matter of time before that’s another milestone under my belt.

Happy running everybody

Tim

It's only us runners that would know how miserable you felt not being able to run. I'm glad you're better now and managed to run and get pb's. Congratulations 😊

Was in shorter in duration that other episodes? Just wondering if being fitter body helps with recovery from an episode?

There really is no pattern, I think the build up of Uric acid is a cumulative effect which reaches a saturation point and the crystals form in the lower joints. I had not had an episode for months and probably dropped my guard a bit but I had quite a lot of rich food and a lot of alcohol over Christmas and my Holiday which is probably what triggered it. This one lasted 3 days, hopefully its the last one!
