Hello you experienced runners. Does anyone wear waterproof or Goretex trail shoes and if not, why? Thanks.
Another shoe question.....: Hello you... - Couch to 5K
Another shoe question.....
I don't and haven't found I've needed them. i've only done a short fell run in winter and was back in the warm before too long.
Running shoes allow water to pass through and out. Many runners wear a non-waterproof shoe but with a waterproof sock if they are running in extreme wet, like streams and rivers etc, where cold, wet feet for prolonged periods could mean frostbite
Where we are running short distances non-waterproof shoes are fine. The first cold hit is a bit of a shock at first but you get used to it.
It's personal preference though. So if you want waterproof ones then go for it. I can't comment if they get too hot though as I've never worn them
Happy running
as i am never out for more than an hour,i have not felt the need to look into waterproofness.
i do wear aldi waterproof socks and ordinary trail trainers when i am at comps with my dogs all day on grass.
dont know how the aldi socks work but they do
Must admit, as a road runner, the worst I get is a few deep puddles. However, I have sprayed my trainers with Fabsil and I'm sure its helped to keep the worst out.
i have waterproofed mine the diy way...rub with candle then apply hairdryer.
yes works fine.
