Hi guys, ive not long completed the C25K, but having a pain in my left knee, only when running on the road, not the treadmill. I’ve been using my Nikeflex running shoes, a Christmas present from mum in law last year. But thinking of upgrading this year. Any suggestions for a good pair of running shoes that are going to cushion my knee from the pavements?
Get a gait analysis done, otherwise you will be taking pot luck in respect of shoes..........because other people praise them does not mean that they are appropriate for you.
Try to minimise your impact when running, by slowing down, avoiding heelstrike, keeping footfall under your body, not out in front, avoiding hard surfaces and wearing proper running shoes fitted after a gait analysis done at a specialist running shop.
Doing the knee strengthening exercises linked to in the guide to the plan will also help. healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
As Ian says, you really need gait analysis before looking at any running shoes. google gait analysis near me and it'll come up with your local options.
I recommend you use a dedicated running shop instead of chain shops.
So i got my gait analyzed and they said i need mild support shoes. But when i look at all my other shoes they are worn on the outside of the foot. Is this correct?
