It's quite short - and doesn't say a lot - but I want to leave it here . Watch it a number of times and have a think about it - try it out on a treadmill if you have one or just play with it outside (somewhere where nobody can see you if you are one of those shy ones ) youtube.com/watch?v=Lhrae87...

That’s very interesting. I’ll give it a go on tomorrow’s run. That phrase about pushing the ground back is something someone else mentioned on a forum recently. Also the idea of not kick heels up. Thank you.
The heel kick comes automatically with increasing pace- think more about lifting the knees - to march or run on the spot requires the knees to be lifted. Not too high - just high enough for the pace. You don't need to "push the ground " when on the treadmill
When doing this outside on a non-rotating Earth -- run on the spot and then lean forwards, you WILL run forwards while still using the same action as "running on the spot"
I will give it a go. The foot action at first resembles Japanese slow jogging.
Identical - but the foot action is the same regardless of the pace.

Great video Bazza and very timely for me. Thanks for sharing.
