Lower leg pain

Hi all, I've started my 1st week and this is my second time at week one just to build myself up but I'm having a bit of lower leg pain and ankle pain, I don't think it's shin splints as I think I've had them before. Have you any tips I could use to help me with it.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and includes advice on pacing, minimising impact, stretching after every run and dealing with injury amongst many other topics.

Well done starting. It's the hardest part. Do you have decent running shoes? It can make a massive difference. Good luck.

It depends on your running style. I had a lot of shin and knee pain during the first week and I went to a running shop after and had gait analysis done - where they look at you running and then suggest suitable shoes. The gait analysis is free if you buy shoes and only takes a few minutes. The right shoes made all the difference to me. Pain free running.
