Shin splints?

So, I am really enjoying the sense of achievement from C25K as I am on W8. I have noticed pain in my lower front legs when I start running which quickly disappears. A colleague and fellow runner hinted at shin splints and this appears to explain it. I'm reluctant to delay graduating but don't want to do further harm 😬

Have you had shoes properly fitted? I started getting this pain too. I got a gait analysis and found out I over pronate so need support shoes. It can be expensive, but when you need replacement shoes, you can usually just buy the same style online for cheaper once you know which style suits your feet and running style.

Are you following the advice in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... in respect of minimising impact and stretching after every run which will help.

It is often the result of overstressing. keep footfall under your body.
