Hi I am new to couch to 5k, I’ve never run before and am a very unsporty 58 year old I have just finished week 1, so have managed all 3 runs. I didn’t find it too difficult do I have to leave a day in between or could I try run 4 tomorrow as don’t feel tired?

Thanks 😁

The advice is never run on a rest day even though you feel ok. Your body needs these days to repair before your next run and you could also get an injury that could put you out of running for a while . You can walk, cycle or swim just no running. Great that you've completed wk1😊😊

Rest days are non negotiable...non impact exercise on those days is fine...walking..swimming.. cycling

Yoga..etc etc...but however you feel..the micro tears need time to recover :)

You are doing just fine..stay safe and enjoy xx

No running on consecutive days, the number one rule on C25K is never to run 2 days in a row, enjoy your rest day.

Thanks very much 😬

I tried to do this once but thankfully when I woke up my legs were so stiff I could barely walk. You might be feeling optimistic now but in the morning you might be the same as I was!

Stick to the programme and the advice of days off in between, you’ll progress rapidly - seriously, I’m in the same sort of demographic and have really benefited from C25K!

Trust the program and stick to it. There are often posts from people who went off piste and regretted it later. An injury will set you right back and that would be so disheartening
