There was no post graduation week 2 post because I didn’t run. I took some of the advice that you lovely runners gave and took a week off.
My jogging group is on a Monday night but I was absolutely dreading it in case I couldn’t do it (yes, I know I can and I have, but those horrible wee doubts wouldn’t go away!)
Anyway, I’m on leave this week and it was a really nice if somewhat toasty afternoon and the notion took me to get it done! New trainers on, tech sorted, playlist sorted and route sort of planned and off I went.
No Sanjeev, just my playlist and my tracking app. I wasn’t sure how far I was going to run, just running for the sake of running till I absolutely couldn’t run anymore or 5k, whichever came first.
Warm up walk done, tracking app started and I started running. First 1k was the hardest as usual but then I just kept going. I’m really glad that no one else could hear the conversations and arguments that were going on in my head 😂😂, my legs however ignored all of them and carried me all the way to the 5k buzz on my watch.
Absolutely delighted with myself 5k in 33:40!!!
Walked the rest of the way home, apologies sent to my jog leader along with Strava evidence of my run and had spent the rest of the day with a big cheesy grin on my face.
I do loads of other exercise but running has always been my nemesis, I was a sprinter when I was younger so never really got distance running what i do always get after a run though is the biggest post exercise high and that’s what makes me want to do it again.
Sorry, that was a long post 🙊
