Hi... so I graduated back in April, was doing mostly 2 consolidation runs a week for about 8 weeks but haven’t run for 4 weeks today due to lots of reasons... I’ve been carrying my stuff around with me and just not managed it...
I might actually manage to get there this evening but don’t know how I should tackle it...
I was only doing 30min runs plus 5 warm up and cool down and am fine with that with no desire to do more at the mo... but do I go out tonight and just do what I can, maybe 20mins or should I go back to doing intervals?
Thanks for advice in advance!

Just head out for a gentle jogette...no distance or time in mind ..see what the body says... Then next time..just some gentle building up runs to 30 minutes..some short runs and maybe a long slow relaxed run occasionally
The long slow runs are the ones that build everything up..
I recommend this to everyone for any reason, but it might just be the thing for you! As Oldfloss says go slow. But there’s slow & there’s Japanese slow jogging slow!
This is a low impact style of running designed to avoid injury, so very good after an absence, injury, or trying to run in the heat. I run this way all the time and love it! There’s a few parts to the technique so it’s worth watching a few times to get it all. But at this lovely slow speed you’ll probably find you can actually do 30 mins no problem.
Thanks both! Appreciate that... I went out tonight and managed 25 mins running plus warm up and cool down so pretty pleased not to have lost too much form!
Discorunner - I’ve seen you and others talk about this a lot over the last few months and have mentioned it to friends starting out but never actually looked at the videos myself - just watched it knowing I run pretty slowly anyways - think I’m already pretty much there but good to have some additional pointers to try next time!! Great stuff!
Oldfloss - I know you often mention varying up the runs a bit but I’ve been pretty poor at this so need to try harder! I will... at somepoint... try a long run...!!!
