Advice on running watches

My gift to myself at the end of C25k plus one park run is going to be I’ll a running watch. Does anyone have any recommendations. I can’t afford one of the really expensive ones!

I’ve read that HR monitors are more accurate round your chest than on your wrist, and I already have a Garmin HR monitor, for cycling (I had to stop cycling seriously because of injury, which is why I ended up running). So ideally I want a watch that I can use with my existing kit.

I have a Garmin forerunner 35... under £100 and does all I need... should work with the chest monitor you have, but the Garmin green light HR seems to do better than most wrist monitors in testing, one review I read said it was within 3%.

Definitely get a Garmin Watch. Most should work with your chest strap. I have the ForeRunner 235 and it has been fantastic.
