I am in week 8 of C25K. I have completed all runs and not found any easy. I have always run with my mobile in my hand. And why not? On my last run after turning on the podcast, Strava and my music I put my phone and keys in my running bum bag.
This was my easiest run ever and my speed increased by 10%.
Whilst running is more about endurance than speed has anything you've done sped you up?

I do not think that you will get a PB running with your phone in your hand, although thinking back to last year I got my PB of 32.25 for 5K running with the phone in my hand, it does hold you back very slowly from running your quickest.
Holding anything in your hands while you run can create asymmetric muscle tensions, which often show up as neck ache. Your hands should be loosely unclenched when you run.
