I feel amazing. Final run and I did the last 5 mins half a kph faster than the first 5 mins. Sooooo pleased.
The journey has been great. It's had it's lows but mostly the highs just kept coming.
For anyone out there just starting out I only have one thing to say...'trust the programme' It works.
I'm 48, hadn't exercised in over 20 years, struggled with 60 seconds 10 weeks ago and this week I ran for 30 minutes 3 times...and managed to speed up along the way.
A massive thank you to Laura, the ever present coach, and to everyone here for providing such a supportive community.
Oh, one last unexpected outcome...whenever I hear 'clubbing' music I want to run. Didn't expect I'd ever want to run unless it was towards cake!

If you love Laura and clubbing music you can after you run several 30 minute consolidation runs go on to the Stepping stones podcasts with Laura, there is clubbing music on those podcasts. π π
I am doing the Stepping stone podcasts with Laura, although I don't go clubbing or generally listen to clubbing type music πΆ I find it does help when out runs and keeps my pace per beat, per step to the music. At a guess, 150 steps a minute would probably get you around 40 minute 5K, 160/165 steps a minute around 30 minutes 5K, but there are other factors to consider as well such as the length of your strides.
Ill celebrate by getting some dedicated running kit i think. I got good running shoes a couple of weeks in but im just running in shorts and tshirts that are in the wardrobe. I fancy some bright patterned stuff now, just for running.
The crowd on here are all going wild for you. πππππππππππππππ ππππ the badge is polished, keeping a seat warm for up on the fluffy grad cloud. Congratulations and Welcome.
