I’m new to this and wondered do you all plan where you going to go? Or just see where the mood takes you?
I have been following the same route but worried I might get bored of it but at the same time will see how improving. Any thoughts/experiences?

I go to the local park as I run with my dog. As I improve I will probably go to different place. I prefer to drive somewhere pretty than run from my house.
Anywhere off road, particularly A roads, a few minor B roads are OK but running in parks or countryside lanes are best. Where I live there are many off road trails where I regularly 🚶 walk, cycle 🚴 and now 🏃. run.
I try and vary it - one run from my house on pavement, one in some nearby woods and another at the nature reserve or down the canal. Each route has different challenges and it keeps things interesting. Google local parks that you might never have been to, if there's a Parkrun nearby where do they run? Even if you don't want to do Parkrun maybe you could try some of the route? Try walking some of the routes first before you run them. You'll start to see your local area in a whole new way. Good luck and happy exploring!
Thank you for comments. I am going to give it a few weeks then give park run a go. Not quite ready to run with other people yet.
Thinking of taking my running kit with me to work as travel through some pretty villages and could use as an excuse to explore as well.
