Running shoes question

So I'm using a pair of running trainers that I bought a good few years ago for the sole (haha) purpose of running, but the running part never happened.

I'm using them now and they are doing the job, but throughout and finishing week 4 I've finished the run with soreness on the soles of my feet (mostly the back) .

I'm unsure if it's just the fact that the tempo is picking up and my feet are just sore OR my trainers are not serving their purpose OR I'm running badly. Is it normal to have sore soles as it gets harder or should I invest in new pair running trainers?

Feet seem a bit better the day after but the side of my right knee is bit weak.

It is not good to have sore anything!

So... time to invest... as the runs get longer you need everything to be right:) Well done you on the runs so far :)
