knee pain!!

igottagetthruthis profile image

hi all not run since tuesday w2r1 as i am in pain with both knees. I am a complete newbie to running and wondered if this is common? Scared to run again in case i make it worse but don't want to give up altogether.

Shin splints and knee pains are common for new runners. Dont be scared. Just ensure that you are hydrated and well rested before the runs. You may have received a mail from the administrators here when you signed up. It contains details of exercises which should help you during your runs. IannodaTruffe may be able to help you with the post.

Are you running in supportive footwear... it's normal for joints to complain a little, but you may need to look at proper supportive running shoes to suit you. Here is a guide to running the program....
