Not really tbh

You need a rest day after every run, ideally until been running a year but definitely 6 months

A one off probs ok

Rest days are really important so no don't skip them you could set youself up for an injury that can put you out of running for weeks 😊

I've been running over a year, with some injury time in there.

I still won't do consecutive days. Just not worth the injury risk in my opinion.

I would rather leave a 3 day gap (or more).

Ultimately its your decision 😊

OK thank you, don't want to risk injury was just thinking might help me loose weight and get fit faster

Hidden is spot on... if you are feeling itchy to do more then you can introduce other activities which support your running. These days between are *part* of the programme.

It's not just the risk of injury but the psychological training - the programme is to teach you how to run continuously *and regularly* for 30 minutes. So many people are all about quick results and end up in a boom and bust cycle rather than actually developing a healthy lifestyle.

It's only a rest from high impact. It's really important to introduce some strength training into your week, especially if you're running. Improving core strength will improve your running and quality of life. Sit ups, push ups, planks, swimming... you can also improve your flexibility with Yoga.

Don't think of them as rest days, it's just a different training day.

You have been doing so well. It would be a shame to jeopardise everything now with back-to-back runs and not enough recovery time. The longer runs will help you burn more calories, but you would also endure more impact too.

I'd suggest getting on a bike, either at the gym or outdoors if possible, on one of your rest days. You would still be doing cardio and burning calories, but no impact, just strengthening. I do it and I cycle for the same duration as that week's run.

Hope that helps 😊

No. Even after a year I have a rest day. It's too risky!!

If you want to be the best runner you can be then do non impact cross training on your rest days.........far better than running on consecutive days for a new runner.

Not really. It’s your call of course... but running daily reduces the development of our running legs, and massively increases the chances of a torn muscle... personally I’m trying to avoid having to ever take on W1R1 again.

Thank you for everyone's advice, which of course I am going to take its not just about quicker results I'm also finding I just need to do more so I will find some other form of exercise, I think it's just a case of more energy giving me itchy feet lol 😂 I appreciate everything you have all said x
