Relax... take it steadily and slowly. Follow the plan and you will find that you get stronger with each and every run. If you haven't checked out the post for Newbies..you will find a wealth of information there
Well done!
Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and I recommend you follow the link to the post about mental approach.
Enjoy your journey
Through gritted teeth may be hard to sustain. Check out the Japanese slow jogging technique film on youtube - it’s a low impact style of running that will take the gritted out of your running and turn it into something doable and then pleasurable. And slow running still counts as running. If you learn to enjoy it, you’re more likely to stick at it!
I dread every run then I’m glad I’ve done it. I also dread the hour workout on cardio or weights but needs must! I always feel better afterward (even when I’ve got sore bits) but the benefits out weigh the dread lol. You’ll smash it!!
Have a great run... you only have to prove anything to one person and that’s yourself. Others will be amazed by the change in you at some point. Slow and steady is the key to the programme and building a great base for all your future running and fitness activities.
