So last weekend 4k run (4.9 door to door with warm up and cool down walks) 52 minutes door to door, planned 4.5k of running today, actually did 4.8k, (5.4 door to door, shorter warm up) aiming for around 65 to 70 mins, did it in 57 mins....go figure

Well done... try mixing the runs up now.. a short one.. a medium one and then a longer run... just see how far you get. It is the long slow runs that build up our stamina, strength, distance and speed:) Almost forget distance...

Have you taken a look at the C25K+ podcasts, they are challenging, but incredibly useful...and you can run for the time each one takes and see where you get to...and then take a peek at the Magic 10 plan on Bridge to 10K too :)

Have you read the guide to post C25K running healthunlocked.com/couchto5... which recommends not running flat out on every run............that is the commonest mistake of a newbie runner.

Take care.

Thanks IannodaTruffe and Oldfloss , I have looked at some of the post C25k stuff, i have signed up to do a 10k in June, I am currently doing 30-40 minutes twice a week before work, doing whatever distance I get to, at the weekend I will run out at a steadier pace to aim for longevity, aiming to increase this run by 0.5k each week, I guess that because I am getting fitter, my pace is naturally improving each week.
