I’ve completed w7 r1 today. Just looking at my heart rate and it’s been 191 maximum during the run, is that ok for me - I’m just 42?
I’m really enjoying the challenge of it all & it tests me every time but I’m not giving up 😊

Great run.
Unless you’ve had medical tests and told your maximum heart rate, there’s no answer to your question. If measured by a watch there’s also a lot of room for error in the figures that are reported. MHR in such devices is for guidance only. If you were able to talk in full sentences while running then you were obviously ok... if not slow down a little! If you’re worried about heart rate a trip to your GP is the best place to start.
If you have any concerns about your heart, then please make an appointment with your GP.
That said, your maximum heart rate peaked at 191 bpm during the run. That sounds on the higher side, but it was a little peak (maybe you ran up a hill?) and recovered back to 150-160 bpm quickly. Practically all of your run was in the 'Peak' zone which means that you are probably going too fast.
In terms of pace, what happened about 15 minutes in, when it goes almost vertically from orange to red?
I have a feeling it's an erroneous measurement, an artefact... a dodgy reading. In which case you have nothing to worry about. If you're every worried about it, always look at the shape of curve. Vertically steep increases/decreases are the device probably reading your cadence (foot strike per minute) instead. Optical devices can easily switch between HR and cadence. Google 'cadence lock'
