I’ve just completed my W1 R1 and omg was soooo hard! Finding the motivation was the hardest part, especially cause of the rain😩😂

Well done! W1R1 is probably the hardest to do. And the weather today is awful here.

Getting started is the hardest part and if you can do it on the rain you've got great motivation. Just imagine on a few weeks you'll be graduating in the warm spring sunshine! Good luck

Can’t wait to be one of them summer runners! Don’t think I’ll look as good with a bright red face tho😂

Hardest part is getting out the door. Once you get going you soon warm up. As for getting wet, it's just water. It doesn't bother you when you go swimming or have a shower.

Edit. (All right, cold water is not pleasant but you do get used to it.)

The cold rain helps distract from the sweat though!!

Well done for getting out there & in the rain!! Stick with this and you will be *amazed* at what you can do. But learn to run slowly! I found this useful - m.youtube.com/watch?v=9L2b2...

Your run can be slower than your brisk walk. I think that’s what nearly killed me on the first run! I’m a fast walker anyway, so my first attempts were running faster than my brisk walk. What a state - I was so bright red! So slow right down and you’ll be fine!

Thank you so much for the advice! I’m a fast walker as well, I think I had this problem! I was just trying to be fast rather than pacing myself! I know for next time!!

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

If it is tough, you just slow down until it is easy........simples.

Enjoy your journey.

Welcome.... and bloody well done. That run tried to kill me... then I got to walk and get over it... then it tried to kill me 7 more times. Yeah, it’s hard... it’s also the biggest step up on this plan... and you just beat it... it doesn’t matter wether it was easy or hard... be proud of yourself. You can do this... enjoy getting out there for run 2... it gets easier over time... enjoy your journey.

The good thing there is the weather will be better as you get to the longer runs later in the plan.

Congratulations and well done. That’s a great start. Take it slow and easy which I know is hard to do as suffering myself on Week5Run1 and not going easy enough. Good luck and keep us informed. I find music helps.
