Advice for an asthmatic

Ok, so I deliberately did my first run ever run today when the weather was milder, but the forecast is for colder temperatures for at least the rest of W1. As someone who’s asthma is triggered by the cold, I wondered if any other asthmatics on here had any advice (apart from using my inhaler 15 minutes before I set off, which I did today). Thanks!

Hi yes as you can probably guess from my name I am asthmatic and also have a condition called bronchiectasis. I stared C25K in April last year and took me until September to graduate. I was concerned about how I would cope with winter runs as I am also affected by cold weather. However I find if I breath in through my nose and out through my mouth this warms the air as it goes in to the lungs. Keep going with this programme it really does help us wheezy ones 🙂

Thanks for that. I’ll try my best but my jenky sinuses may not let me, they’re always inflamed cos of allergies 😕. Congratulations on graduating, at least you stuck with it despite it taking longer 👍
