Running in the colder weather

It seems a lot harder to go out in the colder & darker weather. Do people tend to go out early in the morning, or in the evening? I’ve been looking for a long sleeve top I can wear rather than going out with a light jacket on.

I like to go out early.

Apart from one evening run with a group.

If I’m on my own tend to go out early, as I tend to find excuses not to go out if I leave it till the evening.

If I’m going running with a group, I’m happy to run in the evening.

I discovered, the first winter I ran, that I actually get very warm when I run (I am normally a cold person!) so I find arm warmers very useful - I just have cheap ones from Decathlon. It is surprising how well they work, I’m warm and toasty until I’ve warmed up, but then I can push them down if I need to.

Other good buys for the winter: hat(s) (a baseball type cap is good to keep rain off if you wear glasses) gloves, and some kind of head or chest light, for when you’re out after dark.
