Hello lovely people 😀 I graduated last month and have always taken 1 or 2 rest days after each run. Still can’t believe I’m enjoying running 30 mins at a time 😯 But over the next few weeks if I’m to keep up with 3 runs a week I’ll have to do things like Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday. Any advice? If having rest days more important than 3 runs a week?
Thanks

Yes rest days are very important for your muscles to recover and mend, I too graduated last month and I quickly discovered that doing 3 X 30 minute runs a week with a days rest in between was too much running with not enough resting for me and have now settled on 2 X 30 minute runs with 3 non running days in-between and this seems about right at the moment for me but obviously we are all different and you need to find what schedule suits you best.
I run two longer runs a week, on a Wednesday and Saturday and sometimes a shorter one on a Monday, I think running 3/30 minute+runs might be a bit too much for me and could land me in the IC (injury couch).
Keep the rest days... more than one if need be...I usually run Sunday..Tuesday and Friday... one short one, and then a 5/ 6/7 k at least and a long Sunday run day.. an hour or more
C25K has only just begun the process of building up the running muscles
There is an article about running on consecutive days linked to from the guide to post C25K running healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
It suggests that if you have been doing loads of cardio workouts on your rest days that you should wait until you have been running for at least six months, before running on consecutive days. If you haven't and you are over 40, it suggests waiting longer.
